A Closed Mouth Smile for Darren

The Walmarts in my area have quite a few of these dolls in the flowered shirt so I purchased 2 extras just to work on.  This face mold has been around for a while.  It's similar to the So in Style’s Darren. Here is a comparison shot with the older version.

I used the product (above) by Liquitex to form his lips, which produced these hilarious results.  Yeah, go ahead and laugh!   In hindsight I should have mixed the product with paint first..

So I sanded down my first attempt and molded them again after mixing the Liquitex with the paint.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... ok he's still funny looking.  Alright... say what you're thinking...... "Ah got chew..... Ah got chew..."  Bah hahahahaha!

So I broke my trusty Dremal out and started sanding and buffing AGAIN!  Might as well throw a mustache and beard in the mix.

More Buffing...........

After using a Dremal, emery board and nail buffing block I finally got his lips sanded down to a look that I could be satisfied with.
